Batery Lead

Sri Impian Harmonis Sdn Bhd is a company setup in 2010 and one of its operations and core businesses is in the collection of lead materials to be recycled. These lead materials will then be preceded to a recycling plant to be recycled in Malaysia soils. Being that, Sri Impian Harmonis Sdn Bhd is given the responsibility of materials collection and material/resources handling, thus we collect used or drained motor vehicle batteries as whole (within Malaysia) and also lead plates from these batteries, after separation from its container to be recycled.
The recycling plants is approved and endorsed by the Department of Environment (Malaysia) for a downstream end to end recycling process. Lead as known is a type of compound which is hazardous and if it is not being handled with the proper care and technology for recycling, it can be harmful to the environment, thus being with the fact of its huge capacity, materials resources is an important element.
In addition, lead as finished products is commonly used in motor vehicle battery, when this batteries are used and drained out, Sri Impian Harmonis Sdn Bhd will collect from the scraps traders within Malaysia and deliver it to factories for recycling process.
As being an environmental friendly facility and it has been our principle to uphold this matter, we believe that by recycling; will make a difference to Mother Nature, as lead is a very complicated, harmful and hazardous compound.
Sri Impian Harmonis Sdn Bhd welcomes any open doors for drained lead plates from used car batteries from any sources any countries. Hopefully with the help of your corresponding party, we will be able import material from your country, if resources as such are available. Thank you.

Physical and chemical characteristics of material;

Physical characteristic
Its physical characteristics are just drained lead plates from used battery scraps without its battery casing. The diagram shows the example of lead plates inside a battery.

 Chemical characteristic
As lead plates are separated from its battery, thus it doesn’t have any element of acid sulfuric (SO4 2+) in its liquid form, which could be harmful and hazardous if leaking during the process of shipment.

Packaging and Material Handling of Material;

 Packaging
Once the lead plates are collected, before shipping, the lead plates have to be packed into JUMBO bags before being sealed in pallet form, then after, it is uploaded into the container for export.

 Material Handling
Once the materials are properly packed in JUMBO bags, it will then be lifted into the wood pallet, and loaded into the container for shipping. Once these regulations and protocols are followed, it will be ease for both parties to clear from the ports.

Percentage of recoverable compound generated from material;

 Percentage of recoverable compound
From a lead plate, a mere 50% to 60% of lead is recoverable after proper processing.

Conclusion

Environmental and economic benefits can be derived from the movements of wastes subject to the Department of Environment, Malaysia, provided the recovery facilities are :

 Complemented with adequate infrastructural
 Proper logistics
 Appropriate technology
 Sufficient economic viability
 Reduced environmental impacts.

It must also be borne in mind that wastes should not be miss-used, miss-treated and also to be handled in an environmental sounded and friendly manner to avoid legislations regulating the recovery or disposal operations in the country of generation
